Today marks exactly one month since we departed Melbourne, in true Melbournian style, we celebrated with cocktails. Kellie is inebriated and dancing the robot around the apartment. She walks in and out of the room laughing and dancing like a tool.
Squarespace has one again deleted my post that took 45 minutes to write, even though I saved it as a draft so here is the condensed version because I am exhausted.
Our week began with signing up students to fill in the vacant spaces in our program. The hardest part was having to turn down a family that has been through some horrendous things, as their child did not meet our requirements. This was in the best interest of both parties but it still pulls at your heart strings. We know that it was right but we still felt wrong.
Kellie and Linn have been doing 'ear and eye' tests, checking for colour blindness and levels of comprehension within our learners. These results will be factored into the new IPAD program that will be live soon, all information and tests on the new program will be tailored to each child specifically.
We have sorted through all of the donations from our community and are excited to give everything out to our kids. Everything from beanies to underwear, jackets to polos, all will go to the kids, equipping them especially for the winter that is sure to be a harsh one.
I have designed some ID badges for the old Three2Six students, ones who come every Friday to help out with the program after they finish their day at high school. I have also been working furiously on the new Three2Six website and am now in charge of content on the Sacred Heart College website that will be launching soon, taking over the old one. Needless to say I am extremely busy, couple that with freelancing and working on the next 'Project Third World' magazine, life is full.
We have ended our week with cocktails and pizza at a place called 86 Republic, our local favorite.
Hence why Kellie is drunk. Lightweight.
Goodnight all, sorry this was limited but I cannot keep my eyes open and I have drunky next to me dancing to some Iggy Azalea junk. I am very disappointed in her choice of music, Iggy is Australian, why does she sound like a moronic American ordering Chinese food as fast as possible.
Here are some photos from around Josie. Peace.
